A collection deserves a ledger
Every serious collection eventually outgrows memory. Which box was the 2023 purchase? How long has the maduro been resting? What did the last one actually taste like, and was the draw as tight as you remember? Most collectors end up with a spreadsheet, a notes app, and a hygrometer photo roll — three half-records that never agree.
Cedar replaces them with one quiet ledger. Each cigar is cataloged once; each purchase becomes a lot with its own aging clock; each smoke gets a rating, flavors, and a note. Humidity readings live next to the cigars they protect. Over time, the ledger starts answering questions: what's ready, what it's worth, what your palate keeps coming back to.
What Cedar is not
Cedar is not a shop and never will be. It does not sell tobacco, link to sellers, compare prices, or run advertising. It is an inventory and journaling tool for adults (21+) and collections they already own — that's the whole product, on purpose.
Private by design
The iOS app works entirely on your device with no account. A free Cedar Account is optional and exists for one reason: backing up your humidor and syncing it to the web app. Your data exports losslessly at any time, and analytics are anonymous and aggregate. We build it this way because it's the product we'd want.
Who makes it
Cedar is made by ScalingWeb Technologies, a small independent software studio. Questions, ideas, or a bug to report? Write to us — a person reads every message.
