Privacy Policy

The short version
Cedar is a private collection journal. Your collection lives on your device (iOS) or in your Cedar Account (web). We do not sell data, show ads, or share your information with data brokers. Analytics are anonymous and aggregate.
Data on your device
On iOS, your cigars, humidors, readings, and smoke log are stored locally. Without a Cedar Account, none of this data leaves your device except as described under Analytics.
Cedar Account (optional)
If you create a Cedar Account (Sign in with Apple or email), your collection is synced to our servers in the EU (Hetzner, Finland) so it can be backed up and used across devices. We store: your email (or Apple identifier), a password hash where applicable, and your collection data. You can export everything (JSON/CSV) and delete your account at any time by contacting hello@cedarhumidor.app.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive anonymous entitlement status (whether Pro is active), never card details.
Analytics
We use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service: anonymous, no device fingerprinting, no advertising identifiers, no personal data. We see aggregate counts (e.g. “a session was logged”), never your content.
Transactional email (verification, password reset) is sent only when triggered by you. Marketing email (aging tips) is strictly opt-in — unchecked by default — and every message contains an unsubscribe link.
What we never do
No ads. No selling or renting data. No tobacco sales or referrals. No tracking across other apps or sites.
